Enlexica Announces Enhanced Online Baseball Dictionary With Over 5,000 Terms

By Anonymous

SANTA BARBARA, CA July 10, 2003 -- Enlexica, Inc. today announced a new enhanced version of its popular baseball dictionary, "The Language of Baseball" at www.enlexica.com/sp/bb. The dictionary, with over 5,000 baseball terms, was developed as a free resource for writers, students and fans of the game.

In addition to allowing visitors to search for a term in the dictionary, the new home page lists ten separate baseball glossaries that include "Pitching Mechanics", "Player Transactions" and "Batting Statistics". A baseball "Word of the Day" is shown, as well as baseball trivia terms and top ten searched terms. Visitors simply click on a word to view the definitions.

The "Language of Baseball" also lets other baseball site operators add the dictionary to their own websites by providing a "Find Baseball Term" box they can easily copy to their site.

The Enlexica concept was developed in response to the need for a comprehensive baseball resource that combines a dictionary and thesaurus into one useful tool. Instead of the usual way of using a dictionary and thesaurus separately, synonyms are listed with the definition of a term.

“Enlexica is the type of site that really harnesses the power of the web instead of just trying to duplicate what is already in a book,” according to Enlexica’s President, Roy Kuklinsky.

He added, “Students of the game of baseball can examine a subject like ‘Batting Statistics' and learn all the terms used to measure a batter's performance – in effect combining a dictionary with an encyclopedia.”

Enlexica, Inc. is a California Corporation located in Santa Barbara, California. The company was founded in 2000 for the purpose of developing dictionary/thesaurus software for a variety of fields.
